Auguries of the Marshes
There is an urgent need for new approaches to combat multiple environmental catastrophes. Working with the urban ecosystems of Hackney Marshes, my practice aims to engender such significant change – producing multi-species, technology-enabled artwork that radically repositions our relations to the more-than-humans around us.
My PhD research 'AUGURIES OF THE MARSHES' embodies both future-facing worlding and a remembrance of things done otherwise, revealing how we can counter the anthropocentric human/nature binary underpinning the extractive world order. ‘AUGURIES’ develops an affective ethical framework, by integrating methodologies rooted in Anthropology and Science & Technology Studies into a situated art practice, employing technologies such as Machine Learning and 3D Modelling.
